Larry and Bev have been volunteering with Meals on Wheels Central Texas since January of 2016.

Larry and Bev are the perfect team as Bev is great at navigating and Larry loves to get his exercise running meals up to the door. They love that this is something they can do together. Bev and Larry always go above and beyond when volunteering, they drove almost every bi-weekly delivery during the pandemic and have continued to help multiple times a week since resuming daily hot meal deliveries.

One of Bev’s favorite moments in volunteering was when one of the clients on her route saw that Bev’s neck was always cold so she knitted Bev a scarf. A special memory for Larry was a client who served in the war and often struggled to get to the door, Larry saw him with highs and lows but loved getting to talk with the client about his time in the service and could see how proud the client was to have been able to serve the USA.

We are thankful for Larry and Bev and the many ways they have helped Travis County. Thank you!
