Austin Child Guidance Center is a nonprofit that provides accessible, high-quality mental health services to youth up to age 26 and their families to empower them to thrive in childhood and beyond. They are looking for volunteers for the following positions:

Administrative Support Volunteers: Volunteers assist with behind-the-scenes projects that help support our programs and services. Tasks may include organizing materials, creating packets, copying and assembling informational materials, filing, preparing outreach materials, front desk support, event support, and other administrative projects as needed.

Play Leader Volunteers: Volunteers help support a safe, welcoming, and structured play environment for children and families by assisting with age-appropriate activities, positive engagement, and basic program support.

Outreach Volunteers: Volunteers may assist with community outreach events, resource fairs, tabling opportunities, and special events by helping with set-up, distributing materials, sharing general information, and supporting event logistics.

Family Eldercare needs volunteers to help with their annual Summer Fan Drive.

Fan Drive Office Volunteers: From May 1 to September 15, their greatest need is for volunteers at the Summer Fan Drive office. They need volunteers to distribute fans to people in need who come by the Family Eldercare office. Volunteers assist with fan sorting, warehouse/office operations, data entry, and must commit to multiple shifts.

Fan Drop-Off Event Volunteers: They need volunteers to help at their Fan Drop Off Event. Volunteers assist with directing traffic, unloading donated fans, and distributing event materials. With various locations and time slots available, volunteering is a great way to help your community stay cool and comfortable.

Delivery Drive Volunteers: From May 1 to September 15, they depend on volunteer drivers to deliver fans—free of charge—to those who need them most. Many older adults and individuals with medical or mobility challenges can’t travel to pick one up. Volunteers choose delivery routes based on their availability and pick up fans from the warehouse.

Florence’s Comfort House focuses on supplying children in the East Austin/Montopolis area with basic needs including food, clothing, school supplies, and a safe place to study and play.

The Comfort House gives kids meals and snacks that fight an empty stomach and promote good health. The library gives them access to the internet to do homework, books to read and art supplies for crafts. The playground is a place to run around and use their imagination.

As a volunteer driver with Drive A Senior ATX, you will have the opportunity to provide door-to-door rides for local seniors in need. Drivers use their own vehicles and choose which rides they would like to take. Locations are available throughout Austin and the outlying areas.

Volunteer opportunities are quite flexible depending on your schedule. They offer shifts from several times a week to only once or twice a month. Before too long, you will have created new and meaningful friendships with your passengers that will last a lifetime.

Volunteer drivers must possess a valid driver’s license and auto insurance, be computer literate, complete an application, pass a background check, and attend a new volunteer orientation. Please let us know if you would like to assist with this fun, flexible, and rewarding opportunity.

Keep Austin Fed is looking for food rescue runners to pick up excess food from grocery stores, hotels, caterers, schools, restaurants, and more and deliver it to one of their partner organizations that feed those in need.

Volunteer food rescue shifts last for about an hour of your time and redistributes enough food to feed 160 meals to people, keeping over 190 pounds of edible food from going to the landfill!  You are free to choose which food runs to volunteer for and do as few or as many as you have time for each month. Runs are available every day of the week.

Volunteers must be able to complete a 1 hour Zoom orientation, be able to join the Give Pulse Keep Austin Fed group and have their own transportation. Although you are encouraged to complete a Food Handler’s Certificate that covers food safety best practices, this is not a requirement to become a volunteer. Contact us today to get started.
